Editing

  • I have a B.A. (Honors) in Literary
    Translation from Brown University,
and an M.F.A. in fiction from the
    Stonecoast program at the
University of Southern Maine.  I was
also recently selected to be a
    contributor at the Bread Loaf
    Writers' Conference in Vermont.

  • I am currently an adjunct writing
    instructor at Rappahannock
    Community College and Thomas
    Nelson Community College, both in
    Virginia.

  • I have taught Advanced Composition
    and Creative Writing at Emerson
    Preparatory school in Washington
D.C., and have worked as a private
writing tutor at Brown University, in
    Washington D.C., and in Richmond,
    Virginia.

I am available for almost any type of writing or editing work, including book-
length fiction or nonfiction and journal-length essays and papers.  Let me know
what you have in mind—however unusual it might seem—and I will get back to
you quickly with an estimate and ideas.

I have written articles on topics as varied as grouse hunting and agrarian policy
during the Third Reich, and I have edited pieces from academic course
descriptions to corporate memos to literary fiction.
Go to the Translation page for examples of what I have written to accompany my
translations (such as introductions, appendices, etc.), as well as to see some of the other
book-length manuscripts I have edited.  Go to
Ivan Fehrenbach to read more about me.

Why choose me as an editor?

I have been successful editing
numerous books and essays—
but I always make the
author's vision my primary
concern.  I am willing to work
with a writer to find the
perfect expression of that
vision.  Because I have little
overhead, this service comes
at the right price.
